At Kensho, our popular Yoga Sculpt class uses light weights in conjunction with modified yoga postures in order to gain strength and flexibility.
This program bridges the gap between strength and flexibility training and can be a great alternative to traditional yoga for many people.
For those practicing martial arts or experienced Yogis who would like to take their practice to another level, Kensho’s dynamic Yoga Flow Classes were developed by our director Roger Luri based on a 30 years of practice blending different styles of yoga including Ashtanga and Iyengar with martial arts, gymnastics and pilates movements. These classes are designed to help martial arts students to open up and increase their flexibility, strength and range of motion. Experienced yogis will broaden their experience while discovering new focus and new ways to expand their practice.
Many people desire to take up a martial arts practice or other physical activities, but due to extended periods of physical inactivity or inactivity due to prior injuries, often need to simultaneously focus on specialized conditioning to support their efforts. Our classes are designed to develop the strength, balance flexibility and range of motion required to support martial arts or other physically demanding activities. Classes will help to identify and strengthen musculature that we don’t normally use while sitting at our desk, in the car, in front of the TV or just walking around the house or office. (Let’s face it, in our society, this is how most of us spend a large amount of our time.) This is an ongoing process for us all, especially when athletes reach their 40′s, 50′s and beyond.
